file bankruptcy
mom03222007 asked:
I need to file for bankruptcy and I need a lawyer that is cheap and will let me do payments because I am a single mom. I have to file and because I can’t afford to pay all the bills and it cost a lot to file. Is there a way to file and be able to make payment on it? If so . Where can I go to get this done?

You need to call lawyers and see whether any will accept payments.

Open your local phone book, yellow pages and check under
    Attorneys, Bankruptcy or Lawyers.

Then call them systematically and get quotes from their office what the fee is for doing a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and whether they take payments… You will usually deal with a secretary anyway and
she should be able to give you their standard fee quotes.

Make sure that the attorney fee includes any filing fees at the courts, etc. so that you don’t have to pay extra for this.
I can only guess that the whole thing will easily cost you at least $1200 and up, but you should be able to get a picture after you called the first 10 bankruptcy attorneys…

You may have to sacrifice your tax return next spring to get the lawyer paid off…

When I filed for bankruptcy, I told my lawyer straight up the
situation, husband left 8 months before, no job, no money, I need to
pay you in payments and thats what I did, 800 dls. So ask several
lawyers if they accept payment, with todays economy I think a lot
of lawyers will start accepting payments.
    Good luck!!!
